During your telephone consultation, I will obtain the following information in order to develop a personalized anesthesia plan of care.

  • medical history,
  • medication list, and
  • any lifestyle habit information

This may include one or more consultations with any physicians or specialists that oversee your medical care. I will discuss the anesthesia that is most appropriate for you and I will be available to answer any questions.

  • You will receive written and verbal Pre-appointment instructions
  • You will receive a telephone call the day before your appointment to answer any questions.
  • You must be escorted to and from your appointment by a friend or family member, as it can take some time for the anesthesia to wear off completely. For this reason, you should not drive, and you will need someone you trust to keep an eye on you.
  • Prior to your procedure, we will collect your payment information. Your payment will not be processed until AFTER the procedure is complete.
  • During your dental procedure, the following will be monitored continuously by myself:
    • Blood pressure
    • Heart rate
    • EKG
    • Blood oxygen levels/Pulse oximetry
    • ETCO2 capnography
  • A peripheral intravenous line will be started to administer the medication to you

After your procedure is complete, I will determine when you are to be discharged home.

  • This is usually 15-30 minutes following the completion of your dental procedure.
  • A friend or family member will have to be available to take you home, as you will not be able to drive after your appointment.
  • You will receive written and verbal Post-appointment instructions
  • Please go straight home so that you can recover safely and comfortably
  • I will follow up with a telephone call within 48 hours of your procedure.
